My Escape — King’s Cross Art Bench Project

Camden Artist Network · Camden Council Culture Team · King’s Cross
Granary Square & King’s Boulevard, London · 10–30 August 2026

My Escape was a public art exhibition developed through a partnership between Camden Council’s Culture Team and King’s Cross, bringing the work of 35 artists from the Camden Artist Network into the public spaces of King’s Cross.

Presented across the art benches of Granary Square and King’s Boulevard, the exhibition transformed the surrounding public realm into an open-air gallery. Responding to the theme My Escape, the selected works explored individual interpretations of escape in London — creating moments of pause, reflection and discovery within the everyday movement of the city.

Na Young Lee’s work was selected for the exhibition and presented as a large-scale outdoor installation at Granary Square. Removed from the conventional gallery setting, the work became part of the surrounding architecture, pedestrian movement and daily life of King’s Cross, allowing it to encounter an audience beyond the traditional exhibition space.

Lee’s installation was also selected as the lead image for Love Camden’s official coverage of the project, featuring prominently in both the Camden Council cultural platform’s news coverage and its dedicated exhibition page.
